Welcome to Ku-ring-gai Miniwheels Training Club

Ku-ring-gai Miniwheels Training Club (KMW) is a motorcycle club for boys and girls over 4 years and up to 21 years of age. Our facility at St. Ives Showground is licensed by Motorcycling NSW for Minikhana competition and for motorcycles up to 85cc 2-stroke and 150 cc 4-stroke engine capacities.

The Club has been going for over 30 years.  It’s a not for profit family-oriented Club with riders coming from the Eastern and Northern Suburbs, Inner West and Northern Beaches of Sydney. We have a full calendar complete with recreational riding, Club Championship and Interclub competitions, riding weekends away, as well as social events for riders and Mums and Dads.

KMW is an ideal starting point for young riders to develop skills and interest in Motorcycle sport or just to learn to ride in a structured environment.

What we do

KMW is a Minikhana Club. The express purpose of Minikhana motorcycling is the development of riding skills and techniques for junior competitors by providing organised competition, where skill, rather than speed is the determining factor.

The Club runs a varied program of events including practice and coaching days to encourage a broad range of skills used in Minikhana Competition.  Our program also includes Trials, Enduro and Minicross events so riders get to experience different styles of riding. The intent is to develop and encourage safe riding skills in all sorts of situations.

In addition to our Club Championship the Club encourages all riders to participate in Minikhana Interclub and State Championships.  Our riders compete well in these events and are regularly on the dais in the various classes and grades of competition.

Our keenest riders also compete in Senior and Junior Enduro and Motocross competitions.

KMW also takes part in the St. Ives Show each year.  Our riders put on a motorcycle riding display in front of the crowd at the main Showground which is a lot of fun.

The Club provides Kick Start courses to allow riders to obtain a competition licence from Motorcycling NSW.  Club coaching days are provided so riders can complete their 5 hours coaching requirement for relicensing each year.  We also have a number of weekends dedicated to professional coaching from Race Pace and Y-AIM.
