A: “Chain Chatter” is sent out to all Club Members each week and is available on line on the web site if you can’t get your emails.

A:Meeting Schedule                                8:00 Sign in commences

                                b. Sign Indemnity Forms

                                c. Register for Marshalling Duties

                                d. Pay riding fees for the day

5. Parent / Guardian to go to designated Marshall position

Q: “Can I leave my child at KMW to ride without me being there?”

A: It is a requirement for a Parent or Guardian to be in attendance at all times when a Junior is riding.  If a Parent cannot be in attendance then a Guardian needs to be officially appointed.  Refer to the Guardianship Form which must be duly executed by Parent / permanent Guardian and temporary Guardian.

Note that Parents and Guardians form a vital role in running events.  They are needed for the safety of all riders in relation to flag marshalling and they are needed to officiate in all Minikhana and Trials events.

Q: “Are there any rules governing the behaviour of riders and parents / guardians?”

A: Yes.  Motorcycling Australia (MA) has developed a “Code of Conduct” that must be followed at all motorcycling events including KMW Club events.  The rider is responsible for his support staff i.e. his or her parents / guardians.

Q: Do the riders have to attend Riders Briefing?”

A: Yes.  If a rider does not attend Rider’s Briefing they are not allowed to ride.

Q: “Does every bike have to be scrutineered?”

A: Yes.  Failure to undertake scrutineering within the allotted time will mean exclusion from the event.

Q: “Do I have to help tidy up after an event?”

A: Yes.  We need all the help we can get.

Q: “Do I (as a parent / guardian) have to marshal?”

A: Yes.  If there is no marshal for a rider then the rider will be excluded from competition.

Q: “Can we buy food and drinks at the Club?”

A: Yes.  The “Table Top Canteen” has food, drinks and lollies and caters for both breakfast and lunch.  Refer to the Menu on this web site.  Please place your lunch orders before the end of Rider’s Briefing.

Q: “How do I learn more about Motorcycle sport and the rules?”

A: The Manual of Motorcycle Sport contains the General Competition Rules (GCR’s).  If you can find the time to read them well done!  The most common way to learn is through a “General Seminar” which is run by Motorcycling NSW.  KMW arranges a General Seminar each year for new members.  Please keep a look out in Chain Chatter for information on the General Seminar.

Q: “If I can’t do my volunteer work when rostered what do I do?”

A: The rosters for Working Bees and Canteen are on display at the Club house.  If you can’t do your rostered day then please make alternative arrangements with other parents so that your rostered work is covered.

If you can’t attend a Working Bee and have not found anyone to do your day then please contact the Grounds Officer (Simon Clifford).

If you can’t attend a Canteen duty and have not found anyone to do your day then please contact the Canteen Officer (Sandra Jarvis).

Failure to advise that you can’t attend may result in the loss of your volunteer bond.  We don’t want your money.  We do need your time and energy.  Thanks.

Q: “What else can I do to help?”

A: The Club is always in need of people to help run the Club.  Aside from voluntary work associated with Working Bees and Canteen Duties if you can help by providing materials, equipment or your own time by becoming a Committee Member, a Key Official or a First Aid Officer.  You or your business could become a Sponsor.
