Back on track but I’m still not sure if everyone really appreciated the freshly graded fire trail that followed with 6 inches of soft loamy mud………… tested the drifting technique! Lean back and open it up!

Up and down the last steep and into CB for Lunch. Tall stories over Burgers and a beer, smiles all round. Unfortunately the rain set in while we ate, so we knew it was going to be testing on the way home.

Half way back it was almost torrential….that sorted the stayers from the little girls’ blouses!

For the dozen or so who decided more challenging single track was the way to go there were rewards and challenges. The rest had a fairly cruisey trip via the main fire trails.

For those that dared, it seemed the deeper we got into the bush the less it rained (well that’s what I told myself anyway). The lead riders got into such a rhythm they thought they were in some 4 day Enduro race, you couldn’t see them for the roost….  left the rest of us to pick and weave our own way home.

Mike went over the bars and into a rut hole up to his waist (ironically he was off his bike ushering everyone around it on the way out……).

Best bender went to Grant for three off’s all within 400 meters on a tight uphill section. The first was into a tree, second was onto a rock and third was a simple drop just because good things happen in three’s...

Joe got the “too hard” award, because “it was just too hard waiting that long on his corner”

Rumbly got the dummy spit because he spat.

The tail end wound their way back to camp, a little wet and slightly weary. Upon arrival it was great to find the fire roaring, beers flowing and tales being shared.

Big thanks to our sponsors;

Once again thanks to Paul and Geoff in the support vehicle, Stu and Owen for helping to organise the event and for everyone’s support to the club.
